Childcare name label checklist: what to prepare before you order
Starting childcare or infant care in Singapore? Work out what needs a name, which label pack fits, and what to check before you order. The centre's own list comes first.
1. Ask the centre for its own list
Each childcare or infant care centre sets its own rules on what must carry a name and how. Ask for the written list before you buy anything, and ask whether the centre wants a first name, a full name, or a name with the class.
2. Count what needs a name
Our name labels are described for milk bottles and other baby essentials that need labelling for daycare centres. Walk through the centre's list and count each piece separately: a bottle and its lid are two labels, and so is a container and its cover. Add a few spares for replacements and new items later in the year. Clothing and soft items may need a different kind of label, so ask the centre whether stickers are accepted on those.
3. Choose the pack by count and size
| Pack | Labels | Label size listed |
|---|---|---|
| 48 piece pack | 48 | 2.8cm x 1.4cm |
| 70 piece pack | 70 | 2.3cm x 1.1cm |
The 48 piece labels have larger listed dimensions; the 70 piece pack contains more, smaller labels. Confirm the name layout rather than assuming a longer name will fit. Measure the smallest flat surface you plan to label, such as a lid, and compare it with the label size. Other designs on our name labels page do not list a count or size, so ask before ordering if that matters.
4. Get the name exactly right
- Check the spelling and capitalisation. Our personalisation guide notes that typing errors are not covered for a refund or replacement.
- For a Chinese name, enter the exact characters. Our label listings include a Chinese name option.
- If another child at the centre shares the first name, consider a first name with a surname initial, and ask the centre how it tells children apart.
5. Decide what shows on the outside
A label on a bag that travels to and from the centre can be read by anyone nearby. Some parents put a first name or initials on the outside and the full name on items that stay inside the bag. Choose what you are comfortable with, within what the centre needs. If siblings attend the same centre, a different design for each child makes their things easier to sort at home.
6. Check what the labels need to survive
The listings describe the labels as waterproof. They do not publish dishwasher, steriliser or microwave guidance, so check the product instructions and ask us before you rely on a label for that use.
7. Time it before the first day
The 48 and 70 piece listings do not state a personalisation time, so WhatsApp us your start date before ordering. Delivery and self collection are covered in our FAQ.

Quick answers
What should I label for childcare?+
Start with the list your childcare centre gives you, because each centre sets its own. Our name labels are described for milk bottles and other baby essentials that need labelling for daycare centres.
Should I buy the 48 or the 70 piece pack?+
The 48 piece pack lists labels of 2.8cm x 1.4cm, and the 70 piece pack lists smaller labels of 2.3cm x 1.1cm. Compare the label dimensions with your items and confirm the name layout before ordering; the 70 piece pack contains more labels.
What if another child at the centre has the same name?+
Ask the centre how it tells children apart. One option is a first name with a surname initial. Enter the name exactly as you want it printed, and check it before you confirm the order.
Can the labels go in a dishwasher or steriliser?+
The listings describe the labels as waterproof but do not publish dishwasher, steriliser or microwave guidance. Check the product instructions and ask us on WhatsApp before you rely on them for that use.
